Hiring compassionate caregivers to join a small home care team supporting a young man with Duchenne muscular dystrophy in his home. This is client-directed care where you take direction from the client on how he likes things done.
Hard requirements
- Prior caregiving, HCA, or personal support experience is an asset, but attitude matters more than credentials
- Open to training the right person with very limited experience if they are reliable, respectful, and a good communicator
- Comfortable taking direction from the client on his own care
- Clear, proactive communicator who flags issues early and follows through without needing to be chased
- Calm and steady with hands-on physical care (transfers, positioning, tube feeding) and comfortable with equipment training
- Patient, respectful, and nonjudgmental; no rigid compliance mindset
- Reliable and punctual, above almost everything else
- A true team player who supports the client and teammates together
- Comfortable working in a home environment with a small, consistent core team plus occasional casual/relief staff
Pay & benefits
- Pay range: $19.50-$22.50/hour, with a separate overnight rate
Work format
- Full-time position available
- Applicants must be comfortable working weekdays, weekends, and overnight
