Job description
Veterinary technician performing laboratory tests, radiographs, and assisting with surgery in a small animal hospital.
Provides nursing care, dental procedures, and client counseling under the direction of a veterinarian.
Hard requirements
- College/CEGEP or Veterinary/animal health technology/technician and veterinary assistant education
- Registration by a provincial or territorial, or regional association as Registered Animal Health Technologist or Registered Veterinary Technician
- 7 months to less than 1 year experience in teaching area of work experience
- Specialization in small animals and intensive care
- Manual dexterity, attention to detail, hand-eye co-ordination, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure
- Excellent oral and written communication, client focus, flexibility, initiative, judgement, organized, team player, and versatility
