Job description
Performs security duties and assists nursing staff in providing basic physical and psychiatric care to forensic psychiatric patients under the supervision of a registered nurse.
Hard requirements
  • Secondary School Diploma plus an additional Correctional Techniques Program of over one year and up to two years or equivalent
  • Current Basic Life Support certification (BSL)
  • Advanced Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training (CPI) course or commitment to take this training within the set timeframe
  • Prevention and Management of Suicidal Behaviour course or a commitment to take this training within the set timeframe
  • Good judgement and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physical ability to perform the assigned work
  • Good work history (performance and attendance)
  • Adherence to professional ethical principles, the Network's management philosophy, and organizational values
  • Compliance with the rules of confidentiality set by Vitalité Health Network
  • Bilingual essential

Work format
  • Permanent full-time
  • Day, Night, Weekend, Rotation, 8 and 12-hour shifts. Work schedule may be changed to meet operational needs
