Assistant head nurse - urgent care

Job description
The Assistant Head Nurse supports daily operations, patient flow, and staff in a dynamic urgent care environment while providing frontline nursing care and leadership. This role involves acting as a clinical resource, advocate, and role model for nursing staff to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
Hard requirements
  • Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
  • Minimum of 5 years of current Emergency or Urgent Care nursing experience, including demonstrated leadership experience as a Charge Nurse.
  • Experience with Connect Care or a comparable electronic health record system.
  • Minimum of three of the following certifications: ENCP, TNCC, ACLS, PALS, NRP, or CTAS.
Work format
  • Patient intake hours are Monday to Friday from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
  • Shifts may extend as late as 2:00 AM to ensure uninterrupted care.
  • The position is located in East Edmonton.
