Diagnostic medical sonographer, general procedures
Job description
The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer performs abdominal, obstetrical, pelvic, peripheral vascular and small parts ultrasound examinations and assists in procedural rooms.
Hard requirements
- Graduate of a recognized training program in Medical Diagnostic Sonography
- Certified with Sonography Canada or ARDMS, or certified with Sonography Canada and passed CCSA
- Demonstrated knowledge of sonography theory, practice, and aseptic techniques
- Demonstrated ability to perform examinations in compliance with departmental standards
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and staff
- Demonstrated ability to operate related equipment and work independently or collaboratively
- Demonstrated ability to establish workload priorities
- CPR techniques knowledge
- Computer skills for client care information systems
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
