Diagnostic medical sonographer, general procedures

Job description
The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer performs abdominal, obstetrical, pelvic, peripheral vascular and small parts ultrasound examinations and assists in procedural rooms.
Hard requirements
  • Graduate of a recognized training program in Medical Diagnostic Sonography
  • Certified with Sonography Canada or ARDMS, or certified with Sonography Canada and passed CCSA
  • Demonstrated knowledge of sonography theory, practice, and aseptic techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to perform examinations in compliance with departmental standards
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and staff
  • Demonstrated ability to operate related equipment and work independently or collaboratively
  • Demonstrated ability to establish workload priorities
  • CPR techniques knowledge
  • Computer skills for client care information systems
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
