Job description
The Advanced Care Paramedic (or Primary Care Paramedic if no ACP applicants) works as an integral part of the paramedicine program, responding to emergency and routine calls to provide skilled basic and advanced emergency care. The role involves operating ambulances, conducting physical examinations and assessments, performing advanced interventions, and maintaining professional standards while reporting to the Manager of Emergency Services.
Hard requirements
- Advanced Care Paramedic qualification (or Primary Care Paramedic if no ACP applicants)
- Ability to work with considerable independence and function as a leader/mentor or active team member
- Commitment to safety and person-and family-centered care
- Annual approval from Government of Newfoundland and Labrador
Pay & benefits
- Advanced Care Paramedic: CGHSA37 of the NAPE HS salary scale $39.14 to $46.27 per hour
- Primary Care Paramedic: CGHSA29 of the NAPE HS salary scale $32.71 to $37.40 per hour
- Applicable Labrador Allowance
- Signing bonus up to $14,000 (with Return in Service commitment)
- Come Home incentive up to $50,000 (with Return in Service commitment)
- Student bursary up to $10,000 (with Return in Service commitment)
- Relocation support
Work format
- Permanent Full-Time
- Variable Shifts; 75 hours Bi-Weekly; as per base/job schedule (days, nights, weekends, on-call & standby required)
