Job description
The Registered Nurse, Directing (DRN) manages pediatric, palliative and/or acute medically complex clients with COPD or CHF by directing Personal Support Workers remotely.
Hard requirements
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • CNA Certificate in Palliative Care or completed "Fundamentals of Palliative Care" and "Comprehensive Advanced Palliative Care Education (CAPCE)"
  • Extensive hands-on experience in Pediatric Care for pediatric DRNs
  • Recent palliative, pediatric, and/or acute medical experience with COPD and CHF patients
  • Demonstrated advanced assessment skills and experience in gerontology and/or medical-surgical
  • Experience working in community-based health care system is an asset
  • Proficient nursing skills with ability to read and interpret electronic technical information
  • Critical thinking, problem-solving and multi-tasking skills are mandatory
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary virtual team setting and independently
  • Must have high-speed internet access, computer skills and ability to work from home in a private office area
  • Eligible and successfully obtain a security screening certificate from the Government of Canada
  • Valid CPR C / First Aid required
  • Access to a personal vehicle for business use and possess both a current driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance
  • Current and original copy of a satisfactory Criminal Records Check is required upon start of employment

  • $41–$45/hr
Work format
  • Permanent, Part-time (0.6 FTE)
  • 48 Hours Bi-Weekly
