Job description

The Therapeutic Recreationist supports the planning and implementation of social/recreation rehabilitation programs for the Evening Social Recreation Rehabilitation Program. The role promotes mental health and healthy lifestyles for participants with mental illness, developmental disabilities, and special needs.

Hard requirements

College diploma in recreation and registration in Therapeutic Recreation Ontario association, OR social work/social service diploma/degree and registration or eligibility for a professional college, OR Peer Support Worker with recognized certification including 50 hours of practicum
Valid driver's license or access to a reliable vehicle
Excellent communication skills and ability to engage participants
Skilled in social, recreation, and rehabilitation programming
