Job description
This permanent full-time Nurse Practitioner (Family/All Ages) provides autonomous comprehensive health services, including diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses, within the Burin Peninsula Health Centre. The role involves collaborating with medical services for inpatient care, covering the Emergency Department, supporting Primary Health Care Clinics as required, and potentially working on call.
Hard requirements
  • Completion of an approved/recognized Nurse Practitioner program
  • Current registration with the Association of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (ARNNL)
  • Licensed (or eligible for licensure) as a Nurse Practitioner (Family/All Ages) with the ARNNL
  • Minimum of five (5) years clinical nursing experience in adult acute care services within the last seven (7) years
  • Current BCLS Certification
  • Strong abilities in collaboration, clinical reasoning, professional development, interpersonal effectiveness, conflict management, and teamwork
  • Demonstrated progressive clinical leadership skills
  • Strong communication, problem solving, decision-making, and teaching skills
  • Demonstrated ability to function autonomously in an advanced practice role
  • Demonstrated skills in computer and database management
  • Satisfactory record of work performance and attendance
Pay & benefits
  • Salary: NP-35 (CAD52.31 - CAD64.92 per hour)
