POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Accountant is responsible for collecting, calculating and entering data to maintain the company?s accounting process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
General ledger account reconciliations in preparation of the financial statement workbook;
Accounts receivable deposits and collection inquiries;
Cash management of accounts payable payment runs and online transactions;
Maintaining current book balance spreadsheets on all company bank accounts;
Posting general ledger transactions into accounting software;
Monitor and control job cost entry posting of labour & equipment charges;
Assist staff with major project set up of controls, tracking, and invoicing formats as required;
Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) reporting, remittance and compliance;
T5018 subcontract payment annual reporting;
Maintaining documentation for internal audits;
Assist with the implementation of new projects and initiatives within the finance department;
Ad hoc analyses as required by departments, the Controller, and CFO (e.g. break even, scenario, forecasts, etc.);
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned; and,
Adheres to all company policies, standards, procedures and safe work practices.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Accounting designation (CPA) Completed;
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite;
Advanced Excel proficiency with complex formulas, pivot tables and VBA would be an asset;
High attention to detail;
Strong organizational skills and able to effectively manage competing priorities and deadlines;
Ability to work both independently and in a group setting;
Experience in the electrical and/or construction industries would be considered an asset.
Knowledge of the following software would be considered an asset: NetSuite, ADP, Concur, FDM, Coupa WORKING CONDITIONS:
Primarily office-based work, involving prolonged periods of sitting and computer/screen use;
Frequent use of computers and other standard office equipment, requiring repetitive hand/wrist movements and sustained visual attention; and,
Periods of increased workload and time-sensitive deadlines, particularly during month-end/year-end close, audits, budgeting, or other reporting cycles.
Pay: $90,000.00-$105,000.00 per year
