The Community Health Worker provides episodic assistance and immediate client care needs to the Downtown/Point Douglas Community Mental Health Program under the direction of the manager. This role enhances capacity within the team to be more responsive to client care needs in the community area.
Hard requirements
  • Minimum of two years (within the last five years) experience in a community-based setting
  • Extensive personal and/or professional experience working with inner city populations, including those with mental health/addiction issues, the mentally challenged, elderly, immigrants and refugees
  • High School diploma, Manitoba standards required
  • Successful completion of a related outreach training program preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle
  • Current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment
Pay & benefits
  • Salary: $24.662, $25.038, $25.411, $25.785, $26.172, $26.547
  • Employee responsible for any service charges incurred for required registry checks
