Duties
The Tree Pruner I assists in tree care operations including planting, pruning, and removal of boulevard and park trees. This role involves climbing trees using ladders, ropes, and safety harnesses while operating power saws and other hand tools under supervisor direction.
Hard requirements
- Completion of Grade 10
- Current and Valid BC Drivers License
- Considerable knowledge of methods, practices, tools, equipment and safety precautions for pruning, removals, and planting
- Ability to perform hazardous climbing and pruning tasks at considerable heights
- Ability to perform manual tasks under varying weather conditions
- Skill in the use of power and hand tools, safety harness, ropes, and brush chipper
- Copy of five-year ICBC Commercial Driver?s Abstract (N Print) dated within 30 days
- Copy of five-year ICBC Driver?s Claims History within 30 days
