Duties
The Ministry of Government Relations seeks a Director, Aboriginal Consultation to lead the Government of Saskatchewan's First Nation and Mtis Consultation Policy Framework and provide expert advice on consultation policies, planning, and programs. This role involves strategic planning, policy development, managing a high-performing team, and building relationships with Indigenous communities and stakeholders.
Hard requirements
- Graduate, post-graduate, or law degree related to Indigenous matters
- Significant senior management experience
- Extensive knowledge of Indigenous relations, consultation policy, treaty and land claim issues, public policy development, government decision-making processes, and the legal duty to consult First Nations and Mtis communities
- Strong relationship-building, negotiation, decision-making, and stakeholder engagement skills
