Duties
As a Stores I, you will perform tasks associated with picking, packaging, shipping, and receiving orders for hospital supplies, equipment, and food. You will process requisitions, distribute supplies, conduct cart audits, track inventory, and communicate with stakeholders to ensure correct quantities are available.
Hard requirements
- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend English fluently.
- Experience in shipping and receiving, warehousing, and material handling.
- Experience with the use of a computer and Microsoft software.
- Experience in a computerized inventory control system.
- Knowledge and understanding of aseptic techniques.
- Certification in TDG and WHMIS.
- Must be capable of pushing and pulling heavy wheeled carts up to and occasionally exceeding 275 Kgs.
- Must be capable of walking or standing for long periods of time.
- Must regularly use hands and arms to reach, lift, and carry heavy items up to 25 kg.
- Able to occasionally move pallets using a manual jack, exceeding 1200KG requiring a pushing force of 20KG.
- Ability to report to work within 24hr notice.
- Attention to detail and ability to work with limited supervision.
- Reliable, cooperative, and able to demonstrate effective service attitude.
- Maintain a positive attitude while adapting to changing priorities.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, customers, and vendors.
