department manager - retail
Duties
Department Managers are responsible for the sales results and daily management of their area, including executing marketing campaigns, managing inventory, and participating in meetings. They also optimize delivery flow, support shipping operations, reduce costs, and train associates on equipment like booms and forklifts.
Hard requirements
- Strong knowledge of Supply Chain, Fleet Management and/or Logistics
- Experience in warehouse operations, business improvement processes
- Advance computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites
- Ability to recognize logistical problems, challenges or opportunities
- Exceptional interpersonal, management and communication skills
- Post-secondary education or equivalent experience is an asset
- Familiarity with routing, dispatch and warehouse management systems is required
Pay & benefits
- Starting wage of $17.25/hr
