Community aquatics and recreation coordinator
Duties
The Community Aquatics and Recreation Coordinator plans and organizes events, oversees staff, and delivers aquatics programs to support Canadian Armed Forces members and their families. This role involves supervising the aquatic facility, mentoring junior staff, and creating adult and children’s programming.
Hard requirements
- College diploma or certificate in Sports Administration, Recreation Management, Leisure Services, or a related field, plus some years of experience in recreation administration or a related field
- Current CPR and Basic First Aid qualifications
- Current National Lifeguard Service Certificate (NLS) qualifications
- Current Red Cross Instructor/ Lifesaving Society Advanced Instructor (Asset)
- Current Red Cross/ Lifesaving Society Instructor Trainer (asset)
- Experience in planning and evaluating aquatics and recreation programs, applying policies and legislation, preparing physical aquatic programs, budget administration, personnel administration, and pool management
- Competencies in client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership
- English language proficiency is essential
