Senior consultant, performance excellence & reporting
Duties
The Senior Consultant oversees the design, implementation, and evolution of Cancer Care Alberta's Performance Monitoring Framework (PMF). This role involves developing key performance indicators, coordinating routine performance reporting, and guiding strategic conversations to support continuous improvement across the organization.
Hard requirements
- Advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in health, data, business, public administration, or related discipline
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience leading evaluation and reporting initiatives within a healthcare organization
- Formal training in quality improvement or business management
- Experience with dashboard development, analysis, synthesis, and reporting
- Experience with quantitative and qualitative health systems evaluation including developing evaluation frameworks and logic models
- Experience facilitating discussions related to data interpretation and analysis with multidisciplinary groups, including clinical and senior leadership audiences
- Strategic thinking skills to synthesize diverse inputs into clear, actionable recommendations
- Experience implementing complex initiatives, including identifying risks and managing issues
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing briefing materials, reports, and presentations
- Proficiency with data analysis tools (e.g., SAS), Connect Care data, Tableau, Microsoft Office applications
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working in healthcare systems or large public sector organizations
- Advanced system-level thinking and strong judgment
- Leading through influence and consensus-building, client-focused orientation, and commitment to providing quality services
- Project Management and Change Management expertise
- Motivated and adaptable team player with a clear pattern of professional and personal development
- High level of professionalism when managing sensitive or complex issues
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision under pressure with adherence to firm deadlines
- PhD in health administration, business, epidemiology, analytics, public policy, or related field
- Working knowledge of CCA and AHS
- Experience designing and delivering adult education
- Training in QI and health service planning
- Advanced training in leadership, research, and implementation science
- Experience managing physical, human, and financial resources
- Experience designing apps & websites and EHRs, surveys in RedCap and other tools
- Experience with AI development and application
Work format
- Location is negotiable and may be eligible for remote or hybrid work arrangements
- Requires occasional provincial travel and opportunities to work in-person with collocated team members for key meetings and workshops
