road maintenance worker
Job description
This position performs semi-skilled manual tasks in the maintenance and construction of roads, pavements, and street cleaning. The incumbent acts as lead hand on road projects, uses motorized compacting machines, and performs complex work independently.
Hard requirements
- Up to high school graduation and experience in general construction and maintenance work, or equivalent combination of training and experience
- Some knowledge of methods, techniques, materials, tools and equipment used in general construction and maintenance work
- Ability to perform semi-skilled manual tasks requiring independent judgement and understand oral and simple written instructions
- Skill in the use of a variety of tools and sufficient physical strength, stamina and coordination for heavy manual outdoor work in all weather conditions
- Valid Driver's License for the Province of British Columbia
Pay & benefits
- $35.62/hour
Work format
- 40 hours weekly; Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
