Job description
Kerr Street Cafe is seeking a young, energetic Cafe Manager to lead day-to-day operations, deliver excellent hospitality, and build a welcoming environment for customers and staff. This role involves working hands-on alongside the team to ensure smooth service, manage costs, and foster a positive workplace culture.
Hard requirements
- 3+ years of restaurant management or supervisory experience, preferably in high-volume, full-service, or upscale casual settings
- Strong leadership, people-management, communication, and organizational skills
- Genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences
- Ability to remain calm, positive, and solutions-focused during busy services
- Strong understanding of restaurant operations, labour management, and customer service
- Experience with POS systems, cash handling, scheduling, and inventory is an asset
- Food Handler Certification is preferred
- Smart Serve certification is required if working with alcohol service
- Ability to work weekends and holidays as required
- Must be comfortable working on feet and being actively involved in operations
- Strong English communication skills
