Job description
The Director Labour and Employee Relations manages a team to execute VON's national strategy, overseeing collective agreement administration, grievance and arbitration management, labour negotiations, workplace investigations, legislative compliance, and management coaching.
Hard requirements
- Candidate must reside in Nova Scotia
- Experience with collective agreement interpretation, labour legislation, workplace investigations, performance management, grievances, arbitration, complaints, organizational change, and employee relations matters
- Ability to identify emerging risks, develop mitigation strategies, and escalate significant organizational, legal, financial, reputational or precedent-setting matters
- Experience supporting organizational restructuring, workforce adjustments, service redesign, and other organizational change initiatives
Pay & benefits
- $38–$87/hr
Work format
- Regular, Full-time (1.0 FTE)
- 75 hours bi-weekly
- Days schedule
- Hybrid-remote with travel to VON sites in Nova Scotia and Ontario when required
