Technical Advisor
Job description
The RCMP Digital Program is staffing an IT-03 position to support modern digital capabilities, cybersecurity, and data-driven decision-making for federal policing initiatives. This role involves working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex national initiatives that strengthen public safety and operational responsiveness.
Hard requirements
- English essential
- Graduation from a two-year post-secondary program in computer science, IT, information management, or relevant specialty (or acceptable combination of education/training/experience)
- Recent experience (within 5 years) working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to develop IT solutions
- Experience providing expert technical advice on IT systems
- Significant experience (equivalent to 2 years) gathering and analyzing business/technical requirements and providing technical advice for IT applications
- Knowledge of current government-wide IM/IT initiatives
- Knowledge of project management methods and techniques
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally
- Ability to troubleshoot and recommend solutions to application development problems
- Adaptability & Flexibility, Results orientation, and Judgement / Analytical thinking competencies
- RCMP Enhanced Reliability Status with Secret or Top Secret clearance (Canadian citizenship required for Top Secret)
- Willingness and ability to support a 24/7 system including on-call rotation
- Willingness and ability to work overtime as required
- Persons residing in Canada, or Canadian citizens and Permanent residents abroad
Pay & benefits
- $101K–$126K/yr

- Schedule: 24/7 system support with on-call rotation; overtime as required
