Manager, cloud engineering - technology advisory
Job description
BDO seeks a Banking Cloud Solutions Leader to combine deep banking experience with cloud platform technical knowledge to grow client accounts and shape executable solutions across cloud, data, AI, security, and application modernization. The role involves leading strategic and technical discussions, providing architecture-level guidance on Azure, AWS, and GCP, and mentoring staff while maintaining active involvement in delivery.
Hard requirements
- Deep banking experience including technology governance, risk, compliance, and investment decision-making
- Experience in one or more banking domains such as retail, commercial, payments, lending, wealth, capital markets, risk, or finance
- Broad understanding of cloud, data, AI, cybersecurity, integration, and application modernization
- Demonstrated ability to assess complex technology environments and provide clear, practical direction
- Strong executive presence and the ability to communicate credibly with senior executives and technical teams
- Cloud Platform Architect-level knowledge of Azure, AWS, and/or GCP including hybrid- and multi-cloud environments
- Knowledge of platform engineering, cloud governance, landing zones, identity, networking, security, resilience, and observability
- Working knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD, containers, Kubernetes, APIs, and modern application delivery practices
- Ability to evaluate technical approaches, identify risks, and explain recommendations to architects, engineers, and executives
