Duties
Casual Environmental Service/Laundry Worker performing a variety of duties in a busy environment while maintaining safety and professionalism.
Hard requirements
- Grade 12 education or equivalent
- Good attendance and work record
- Good general health to meet physical demands
- Good general hygiene
- Police Record Check Clearance including vulnerable sector
- Ability to follow verbal and written instruction
- Ability to work as a team member
- Ability to adapt to changing workplace environment
- Ability to operate environmental service/laundry equipment
- Ability to organize workload
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, coworkers, managers, volunteers, families and members of the public
- Sewing is an asset but not a requirement
Pay & benefits
- Probationary rate: $18.77
- Wages scheduled to increase
Work format
- 8-hour shifts between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.; laundry 7am to 3pm and 9am to 5pm
- On-call, 0 to 40 hours per week, 7 days per week, including holidays
- Casual employment type
- Hours and schedule subject to change
- Location: RC MacGillivray Guest Home, Sydney, Nova Scotia
