Job description
This role involves designing, analyzing, and applying professional human resources techniques to ensure optimal performance, specifically supporting managers in work presence management and occupational health and safety prevention. The incumbent acts as an advisory support for risk management, develops well-being programs, and coordinates initiatives to prevent workplace accidents while ensuring compliance with laws and collective agreements.
Hard requirements
- Bachelor's degree in administration, human resources management, industrial relations, or another related university discipline
- Three (3) years of experience in occupational hygiene
- Training in occupational hygiene
- Fluency in English and French
- Willingness to travel on a regular basis
- Knowledge of laws and regulations relating to occupational health and safety as well as collective agreements in the health and social services network
- Excellent communication, leadership, teamwork, planning, and decision-making skills
- Good analytical, synthesis, and facilitation skills
- Good knowledge of Office suite computer tools
- Certificate in occupational health and safety (asset)
- Knowledge of First Nations health/social services models, trends, and issues (asset)
- Knowledge of Cree culture, language, and social/health issues in Eeyou Istchee (asset)
- Fluency in Cree (asset)
