Job description
The incumbent supports the development and implementation of a Health and Safety Program compliant with legislation, providing advice on occupational health and safety matters in an acute care environment. Responsibilities include maintaining safety programs, coordinating hazard assessments, delivering training, investigating incidents, and reducing WSIB costs.
Hard requirements
- A university degree in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent is required
- Minimum of one year of experience in occupational health and safety within a unionized environment in acute health care is required
- Advanced proficiency in Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for drafting reports and explaining concepts are required
- Ability to interpret and implement legislation and report recommendations is required
