Job description
This role involves interpreting engineering drawings, laying out reference points, and assembling and fitting metal structures. The position requires setting up heavy-duty metal-working machines, welding or bolting sections, and installing fabricated components in a noisy, dusty outdoor environment at heights.
Hard requirements
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
- 2 years to less than 3 years of experience
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
- Welding techniques including MIG, TIG, and Gas metal arc welding (GMAW)
- Specialization in Structural metal or steel or Platework
- Criminal record check
- Own transportation
- Physically demanding work with manual dexterity and hand-eye co-ordination
- Steel-toed safety boots
