sewing machine operator
Duties
We are seeking a flexible sewer to sew fabrics by sewing machine, fabricate and assemble products, and ensure projects run smoothly. This role involves cutting materials, marking measurements, packaging, and performing quality checks in a workshop setting.
Hard requirements
- Previous experience with sewing machines, materials, and cutting fabrics is required; upholstery experience is an asset.
- Minimum 12 months production or sewing experience working with equipment in a shop.
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Fluent in English with excellent communication skills.
- Physically able to lift and move minimum 50lbs to waist height or greater.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work well within a team environment and adapt to changing tasks.
- Willingness to learn new skills and understand shop upkeep.
Pay & benefits
- $18–$22/hr
