sewing machine operator

Duties
Perform minor repairs and adjustments to equipment, operate machines to join sections of garments into finished products on a piece-work basis, and sew by hand.
Hard requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience
  • Experience with materials such as canvas, cotton, synthetic, knits, satin, or silk
  • Equipment experience including button holer, double needle machine, feller, fusing machine, hemmer, industrial sewing machine, multi-needle machine, piping machine, profile stitcher, seamer, serger, single needle machine, or tacker
  • Sewing experience in commercial, domestic, garment section work, piecework, semi-section garment work, or whole garment
  • Ability to distinguish between colours, attention to detail, manual dexterity, and hand-eye coordination

  • On site: Work must be completed at the physical location with no option to work remotely
