network system administrator
Job description
We are seeking a versatile Systems Administrator to maintain internal server infrastructure and serve as a core operational resource for our residential VoIP telephony ecosystem. - 3+ years of professional systems administration experience in enterprise or service-provider Linux environments.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience managing and troubleshooting Asterisk (specifically legacy Asterisk 1.4 or 1.8 flat-file configurations without reliance on modern GUIs like FreePBX).
- Strong understanding of telephony protocols: SIP, RTP, RTCP, SDP, IAX2, along with NAT traversal techniques.
- Proficiency in network packet inspection tools (Wireshark, tcpdump, sngrep) for VoIP signaling and media stream diagnostics.
- Solid experience with hypervisors (VMware ESXi, Proxmox VE, or KVM) and network services (DNS, DHCP, NTP, SSH, SSL/TLS certificates).
- Competence in relational databases (MySQL, MariaDB) for Asterisk CDR and application data queries.
- Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, or PHP/Perl for AGI scripts).
- Strong problem-solving ability, documentation hygiene, and ability to handle on-call operational escalations.
