Aboriginal outreach worker
Job description
Casual Indigenous Education Advocate supporting Indigenous students in the Fort St. James area with cultural, language, and social-emotional assistance.
Hard requirements
- Identify as Indigenous (self-identification required)
- Completion of Grade 12 (Dogwood Certificate)
- Two years of post-secondary studies related to working with Indigenous families and children (must include an Indigenous education component)
- Minimum of 6 months of relevant experience working with Indigenous students
- Familiarity with local Indigenous communities, both on- and off-reserve, and local band offices
- Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driving record
- WHMIS 2015 Certificate and familiarity with WorkSafeBC safety procedures
Pay & benefits
$29.54/hr (rate dependent on which position filled in for)
