Job description
Conduct geological, geophysical, and other surveys or survey programs in various locations. Prepare rock, mineral, or metal samples and perform clerical duties such as maintaining filing systems.
Hard requirements
- 2 years to less than 3 years of experience
- No degree, certificate or diploma required
- Experience with GIS, GPS, navigation equipment, and MS Office
- Field work location experience on land
- Technical experience in mapping and surveying, geological sampling analysis, geochemical sampling analysis, and geotechnical studies
- Area of work experience in data interpretation and evaluation, field sampling and data acquisition, geological mapping, quality assurance and control, and scientific data processing
- Industry experience in mineral resources and/or mining
- Willing to travel
- Ability to distinguish between colours
- Personal suitability traits: leadership, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, judgement, reliability, and team player
Pay & benefits
- $300/day
Work format
- Work must be completed at the physical location; there is no option to work remotely.
- Various locations including outdoors, remote location, and on land.
- Willing to relocate; relocation costs not covered by employer.
- Physically demanding environment with fast-paced tasks, repetitive tasks, manual dexterity, hand-eye co-ordination, sitting, combination of sitting/standing/walking, standing for extended periods, and handling heavy loads.
