Job description
SGEU seeks a candidate with post-secondary education in health or legal fields and experience in disability insurance case management or advocacy to interpret LTD policies and collective bargaining agreements. The role involves managing return-to-work leaves, dispute resolution, and maintaining relationships with stakeholders.
Hard requirements
  • Completed or equivalent post-secondary education in health-related or legal-related field (e.g., paramedical, paratechnical, LPN, Licensed Psychiatric Nurse, CIP)
  • Experience directly in advocacy or senior disability insurance case management roles
  • Experience interpreting LTD Policy language and Collective Bargaining Agreement language relevant to return to work leaves of absences and disability management processes
  • Understanding of unions legal framework including Saskatchewan Employment Act and Saskatchewan Human Rights Code
  • Experience working in an office environment using Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, TEAMS)
  • Experience problem solving and leading dispute resolution processes such as mediation
  • Track record establishing and maintaining functional relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills demonstrated by writing briefs/presentations and oral arguments
