Minister Metlege Diab to highlight the Canada Child Benefit’s more generous support for families

Halifax, July 17, 2026 — The Honourable Lena Metlege Diab, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, will be in Halifax to highlight the increase to the Canada Child Benefit, lowering costs for families across Canada. The announcement is being made on behalf of the Honourable Anna Gainey, Secretary of State (Children and Youth). The Minister will be accompanied by Shannon Miedema, Member of Parliament for Halifax. A media availability will follow.
